10 services for learning about leverage and market exposure

Leverage changes how a price move relates to account equity. The useful comparison is between learning, practising, researching and following an author's ideas, rather than looking for one service to decide your exposure.

This site promotes Mike's Channel, our featured pick for following Mike's ideas on Telegram. This is our curated selection of research and learning services, not an independent performance ranking.

What matters for this choice

Same equity, different exposure

Consider account equity of 1,000. A 2% adverse move against notional exposure of 2,000 is a gross loss of 40; against 10,000 it is 200. The corresponding gross equity changes are 4% and 20%.

Use the local sensitivity tool to vary the inputs. This linear example excludes fees, funding and liquidation mechanics and is not a position-size suggestion. Contract and account rules can change what happens before an illustrated endpoint.

TradingView

Charting, alerts and public ideas community

Useful for examining price moves and documented paper-trading features; simulation is not actual account risk.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • Community ideas are opinions from their authors, not verified trading records.
  • Check access to the particular data, chart features and alerts you need.
3

TrendSpider

Technical analysis and rule-based strategy testing

Useful for testing specified rules, not certifying that a leverage level is safe.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • Historical results depend on the rules, data and cost assumptions used.
  • A backtest does not establish future returns or actual execution quality.
4

CoinGlass

Crypto derivatives and market data

Adds market-wide derivatives context; aggregate liquidations do not calculate your liquidation price.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • Its disclaimer says data may be delayed, inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Market-wide liquidation figures do not determine your individual liquidation price.
5

Glassnode

On-chain and market analytics with research

Adds market and on-chain context rather than an individual account-risk calculation.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • Market and on-chain aggregates describe groups of activity, not your personal trade ledger.
  • Check the definition, coverage and access requirements of the metric you plan to use.
6

CryptoQuant

On-chain and market analytics

Offers datasets that may contextualise a leverage discussion; your account rules remain separate.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • A measured series and an author's interpretation of it answer different questions.
  • Check the particular dataset, history and access requirements you need.
7

Messari

Crypto research, asset screening and event monitoring

Useful for background research on assets and events, not account-level exposure arithmetic.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • Event reports and research do not predict how a price will react.
  • Research formats include AI-assisted workflows, and coverage depends on the product.
Official sources
8

TraderSync

Trading journal, performance analytics and market replay

Relevant to reviewing your recorded trading behaviour; verify the relevant account data.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • Check support for your exact broker or exchange, including fills, fees and funding fields.
  • Recorded results and replay outcomes do not establish future performance.
9

BabyPips

Structured learning and trading community

A learning option for foundational market and crypto terms.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • Forex lessons and tools do not specify the rules of every crypto futures contract.
  • Courses and forums do not imply personal coaching or immediate answers.
10

CME Institute

Futures/options education and practice tools

A direct educational option for listed-futures concepts and practice tools.

Documented features

Check before choosing
  • The focus is CME-listed futures and options; crypto perpetuals can follow different rules.
  • A practice environment does not reproduce every live execution or liquidation condition.

Choose your next step

  1. Label equity, margin and notional separately.
  2. Use the exposure tool to compare the same price movement.
  3. Check the actual contract and account rules before applying an illustration.
